Virginia Is For Lovers

Yesterday it was New York, today it's Virginia. And not just Virginia, but the Delmarva Peninsula - that's Delaware, plus the Eastern Shore counties in Maryland and Virginia.

And not just Delmarva....noooooo, but the Chesapeake Bay Bridge!!! Look at this span of bridge over this gorgeous water. The bridge is 17.6 miles from shore to shore - 20 miles from toll plaza to toll plaza, with seagulls flying and squawking overhead the entire length of it. For more history and facts on this bridge they call one of the Seven Wonders of the Engineering World, click here.

I know, bridges, tunnels, seagulls and lovers aren't all that interesting. Well, maybe lovers in a tunnel or leaping off a bridge. Hmmmm, is THAT why Virginia is for Lovers????

Anyway...we've been working hard, and today was no different. Well, other than ending the day eating a delicious seafood platter for dinner....filet of fish, grilled shrimp, scallops and shrimp scampi...yum!

But the JOY of the job are things like this. Being able to see nature, cross engineering marvels and dine on fresh seafood that was probably plucked from the water that day! We're on our way to Boston next.

Can't wait to see what Beantown has in store for us. After all, we have been to the Delmarva Peninsula.
